Why do they all look the same?

The face of Estonia...I'm not saying they are all related. But they do bear an uncanny resemblance to one another...

Cause there is only one, and the one is Lennart Meri.

Meri doesn't look like them though. I haven't been able to find a picture of him when he was young either. Perhaps Meri has always been old...

Do you know the book "Meie Lennart" (2000)? There are some fotos of Meri from the 50s and 60s.

Maybe if we can "melt" those pics into one in photoediting software - we will see the ansector of all estonians!
Maybe Lennart-s ansectors were'nt estonians at all ? ;)

According to Estonica.org, after the Livonian War there were no more than 140,000 Estonians in the 1620s. Today there's about 1.1 million altogether...which means most of them are related...Perhaps Meri descends from a different ancestral Estonian, one with a more rectangular head and smaller cheeks.

I took a mirror and faced my round cheeks... seems that I personally belong to this gang here...

My wife,Lydia, does not look the same as those people.

She is definitely Estonian for many generations, although I brought her to America after WWII.

Her parents and relatives do not look the same in their photographs.

I saw your comment once on Phil's site where you told ugly details of your Italian (?) heritage. This gave me an brilliant idea; why don't you go to Estonia and spred your seeds for awhile? It shouldn't take a long time, for a young buck like you, to make a difference how the estonians look like. By the way, Estonians look great.
